This is not something you want to read if you want to stay content with the status quo of education. Stop Stealing Dreams, Seth Godin’s manifesto on the education system is an eye opening and somewhat heart rending look into the state of our schools. But he doesn’t leave us wanting and thirsting for more; with an informative style and firm, but winsome attitude, Godin presents us with a set of questions and reasons that we must consider before ultimately doing what it takes to change our education system from the bottom up: tossing out the old paradigm and clinging and cultivating a new one.
Mr. Godin, writes about marketing, the spread of ideas and managing both customers and employees with respect, is a best selling author of 13 books. Chances are, if you’ve investigated the freelance option, or business in general, you’ve run across his articles or at least his name.
It’s not a long document, but it would involve maybe an hour or two to really read through it all. But it’s definitely worth the time and energy.
